God Blesses a Life, and the Life that was Taken

Let's find out what God says about mercy, forgiveness and murder

For those of us who live in southern California,

Not very long ago we all heard about a former gang member,

Who was killed while walking with his pregnant girlfriend who was also shot and wounded along side a busy street right next to traffic. It was in front of the Sheraton Hotel in the City of Industry, CA. This very same hotel were the world news media brought to our attention about another person that was killed; a man had said that he was having consensual sex with a woman and that she had accidentally went over the high rise balcony. The case went to trial and the man was Acquitted. (The hotel has since changed it's name)

I was saddened for the murdered man and his parents who had to be devastated by this terrible, heartbreaking and shocking news. I said a prayer that God would take this man into his care and that his death will bless others in some way, that will help glorify God; and to the person or persons who did the killing, that they be brought to a place of peace and repentance with God so that He can use them for His glory. "Do not murder." (Exodus 20:13)   Why do bad things happen?

"WE ARE ALL CONNECTED IN GOD'S PURPOSE FOR US"

"See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise." (Ephesians 5:15) (To live circumspectly means to live our lives with the understanding that the whole of our lives is connected.)

I heard that someone, who personally knew the man who was just murdered, was suppose to be with him at the exact moment and time when he was killed. They were suppose to all go for a walk together, both men and their girlfriend, but he had an argument with his girlfriend so he did not make it to the Sheraton Hotel.

I knew that this was divine intervention from God that saved this persons life. I asked God if He would set it up so that this very same man, who was suppose to be with the man who was just murdered, would go with me and pray for his parents and the loss of their son. I was told that the parents were Catholic and I said that I was a Christian and if it was possible for me to go see the family and to hold hands and pray to God over this very tragic time in their lives. They said it was ok. As we drove up to the parents house there was a gang member in a small car that kept driving in a very agitated manner back and forth on the same street corner, right next to the parent's house.

Gang Members get blessed too

Wwalked up to the parent's house. They were very respectful and religious people. You could see the anguish and feel their suffering from their heartbreaking loss of their beloved son. They welcomed me into their home and shortly after they said a prayer they allowed me to form a circle to hold hands and pray. You could feel God's presence comforting them during this time of great tragedy.

As we left their home, the gang member that was in the car that was previously agitated before we went into the home pulled up and parked right in the middle of the street on the corner, about 100 feet away from us as we were walking back towards the van to drive home. The agitated gang member was a big man with a shaved head. He got out of the car and yelled something towards our direction, then leaned inside the back open window of his car to get something. Then, as he started to walk towards us, you could see that he was very upset by his physical demeanor.

From a distance you could see he had a handkerchief covering one of his hands, like he was injured. As he got closer, what I saw next startled me. I started to pray silently to God to protect us. You could see that the agitated man with the shaved head had a gun poking out from underneath the handkerchief pointed in our direction as he kept walking rapidly towards us, very upset. My spirit of discernment told me that he had the spirit of murder controlling him.

He stopped directly in front of us, as I was already thanking God for His help. He just kept staring really hard and looked agitated. He was breathing very hard at the man who was suppose to be with the man that was just murdered. Then he looked at me for a few seconds, and then back at the other man that he was just staring at. And just like that, the gang member who had murder in his heart turned as quickly as he came and left us untouched. "God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy" (Matthew 5:7)
