I met this little angel when she was just 3 years old under very shocking, frightening and very dangerous circumstances.. (full story in book) I was a thousand miles from home visiting my wife's family during the Christmas holidays. Both of my wife's brothers were telling me that something terrible was going on every night.

That they could hear this little angel yell the words "stop it" to her step grandfather when her stepfather would go into her room.  And everybody was afraid to stand up to this man because he loved to fight and beat up people. I was told that he could not get off work on the river boats for days unless it was a emergency. Its important to know that before I met my wife, that she had signed over all legal rights to her daughter to her mother over a year or two before this time.

Since my wife had no legal rights to her daughter, we had no plans to take my wife's daughter back with us when we went back home after the holidays.

I just wanted to protect her! I will always remember that day when everybody ran out of the living room screaming their step fathers name, "Oh my God! He's home!"

He came home early on emergency leave because I took my wife's daughter to the hospital against my wife's mothers wishes to be examined the day before!   And here was this big man (over 50 pounds heavier than me)  getting out of the car about to come through the front door, the day of reckoning was here for me for making a stand for this little angel. .

This 3 year old little angel and I were the only ones left in the room. That's when she came up to me where I was sitting and she put her little hand in my hand, looked up at me with tears in her eyes and asked me if I was going to leave her too. I knew that she was asking me to protect her against this big violent man. I stood up from the couch as I said a silent prayer to God and asked him to be with me one more time and to give me the strength to protect her.

I knew that I had only seconds before he came charging and yelling through the front door to hurt and intimidate me. It was one of the most intense and scariest moments for me just waiting next to her.  It was not knowing if he had brought a gun with him.

I could hear Satan whisper his words of fear in my mind, telling me to run out of the room like the rest of the family,  that they knew better than to stand up to this violent and dangerous animal. I quietly promised God and myself that if I die this day trying to protect her that this little angel's silent voice will be heard.

 In a instant the front door flew open, with this big violent man screaming and charging towards me to beat me up like he has done so many times in the past. Yelling "What's this I hear about you calling me a _______?"  I had to let go of this little angels little hand as I knew that I was going to have to physically defend her as well as myself.

For a split second, I became confused when this big man started screaming that I called him names, then God's spirit instantly gave me the clarity of mind and spirit and instantly revealed to me that he is trying to trick me so that he can run over to me and start beating on me while I was confused by his remarks, with me trying to explain that I never called him any names.

I had asked God earlier that He give me the same courage that He gave David,

I stood my ground as I put this little angel behind me, I knew she has put all her hopes and prayers that God will use me to help protect her from anymore harm that has already been done to her from this sick man.

I could feel the presence of Satan's evil in this man, as he was just about in range to start beating on me.

I did not expect to say a word at this point that would make a difference to stop this evil in it's tracks.

Satan's fear left me as God gave me the presence of mind and courage and I looked this man straight in the eyes,

As if I had already knew that God had won the battle over this evil presence, I said in complete confidence.

"You have one choice,

You can be my friend,

Or you can be my enemy!...

Which one is it!"

And just like that, without saying a word to me, this big man instantly sat down on the couch beside me, and then said to me,

"I want to be your friend" and held up his hand to shake mine from the sitting position on the couch for me to acknowledge his offer of peace.

My wife who was watching this attack on me from the next room with her brothers, came up to me and said that in her entire life she has never seen her stepfather back down from anyone before, let alone stop in his tracks and sit down on the couch to offer me his hand as a sign of peace.

I knew it wasen't me, that caused him to instantly sit down as he came in charging towards me, I knew he was under the blood of Jesus and that alone put him under total submission of humility and fear.

My wife's stepfather went into the kitchen after this emotional and very draining experience from Almighty God's hand coming down, and defeating Satan's evil plot to destroy this little girls life. God brought my wife's stepfather to a place of repentance as he sat down at the table, as he put his face in both of his hands crying uncontrollably, sobbing, saying that he was so sorry for everything!

"All the glory goe's to an Awesome God for never leaving me or forsaken me!"

Was it by accident or a stroke of luck that my wife's stepfather was literally brought down to sitting on the couch with his hand out as a peace offering? We cannot be blessed for taking away God's glory. If you were there, you would know it was a supernatural experience from God that protected her.

Friends, it's very important that we understand that this had nothing to do with me, All the glory goes to God! I did nothing but be obedient to God's will and try to protect this little girl from harm.

This was just one of many God moments in my life, not just where God has delivered me from harm as I was trying to help someone else. But in the way He connects all the dots to bring about a single victory. Even thou I include everything that has happened to me in helping this angel over many days and over coming many obstacles and adversities as just one blessing of over 400 major blessings in my life. You have to understand that many of the dots that God connected in this story has not even began until the days following this incident.

Was it worth standing up for this little angel in the face of great physical harm?

I would do it again in a heart beat, and so would you if you ask God to give you the courage and the strength to carry out His Will.

Many things happened after this violent encounter. I was brought to my knees with my tear filled face to the floor asking God to use me to help this little angel again.  After this incident, my wife's mother and her stepfather who had legal rights to her daughter was hiding this little angel in the hills until we left to go back home, They knew that time and money was running out for us because I had to go back to work a thousand miles away. It's never about asking God why have you forsaken me? God never leaves us, It's all about giving God the glory that He will humble your enemy beneath your feet as a foot stool for all to see, that God will never leave you or forsake you if you do it His way.

 I was so excited with the way God helped me against so many obstacles and against all odds in this slice of my life that I wrote a story on everything that happened titled: "She's not mine!  This situation was so surreal to me, I felt like I was in the movie Deliverance. From the deep foliage that grew so thick because of the River. And my wife's daughter was calling my wife her sister and calling her grandmother (My wife's mother) Mom. All the glory goes to God and you will know this after you read the rest of the story in much greater detail in my book. "You will see that God is a God of perfect timing!' "God has my back so bring it on! 

I believe that it was no accident or coincident on how I met my first wife and how God brings each one of us together so that we can be used to do His will! I was suppose to meet my sister in a night club and we were going to catch up on how things were going in our lives. As I was waiting, a friend asked me to sit down at his table and he introduced me to a beautiful woman who was leaving tomorrow morning to go back to her home town over a thousand mile away. 

 Do we have the honor that pleases God? I believe that I did the best that I could. I could have done nothing just like everybody else in my wife's family. It was my wife's own brothers who told me that they suspected something horrible was going on at night. I literally had to tear this little angel's arms away from my wife's mothers arms because she would not let me take my wife's daughter to the hospital to be checked out. Just look at her in the picture below after this ordeal, it was worth it. 

I did not just take this little angel to the hospital to be examined by doctors and child psychiatrist just because they suspected abuse. And since nobody could say that they ever saw any abuse, they only heard what could be abuse. I had to also be careful that my wife's brothers were not just making any of this up just to get back at their stepfather for his abusive attitude towards them.

 If that is all you have as evidence and you do what I did by taking her to the hospital for test. It is a good way for someone to litigate against you in Court and win. You have to take it to God in prayer and he will guide you and protect you.
