Let's find out what
God says about being there for you in times of trouble
A parents worst
nightmare
"Do not be afraid of disaster or the destruction that comes
upon the wicked." Proverbs
3:25
To a
loving parent a blessing could be that God has spared their
child's life from a very horrific and terrible
tragedy.
When
I was a young boy in the early sixties, not older
than five years of age, My dad was driving my brothers
and sisters and me down the freeway. My older brother Gene who
was around seven years of age was sitting with me in the middle
of the front seat next to my dad. I was sitting next to the
passenger door. Because my car door was not shut properly
and our car did not have seat
belts.
I fell out of our car while we were going at least
55 miles per hour. I asked God to save me.
By the Grace of God, He gave me the clarity of mind and
the strength to grab onto the arm rest and to hang on to the
door of the open window at this high speed. My dad said later that
he knew not to slam on the car brakes because at this high speed the
car door would have slammed shut with the possibility of
killing me.
My
dad said that there were many wittness's on the freeway watching
this and that they were screaming as they watched a child trying to
hang on for dear life on the outside of the car. God gave me
the strength to hang on just long enough, so when I did let go of
the car doors arm rest, my dad had a chance to slow down
our car, and because of the time it took to bring our car
to a much slower and safer speed.
I
finally did get tired of holding on and I let go of my car doors arm
rest. The people who were watching this in horror screamed even
more as I let go of the car door and fell and hit the freeway
as I went under the rear wheels of our car with my
dad unintentionally running over me. I know it doesn't take a
rocket scientist to figure out who I was screaming for help from,
and by the grace of God, I survived and I did not break
anything.
"The Lord will keep you from all harm-He will
watch over your life, The Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore." Psalms
121:7-8
I thank God that I was
taught by my loving parents at this young age to put my total trust
in to our Lord and Savior Jesus, may you teach your loved ones to
put their trust in God that He will watch over their lives as
well.
"We felt we were doomed to die and
saw how powerless we were to help ourselves; but that was good, for
then we put everything into the hands of God, who alone could save
us." 2 Corinthians 1:9
(I was talking
to my big brother Gene during the Christmas Holidays
on December 22, 2005 he was telling me how he remembered
that he was sitting next at the time I fell out of the car. He
remembered our dad telling him to grab me, but it happened so
quick and it was too late. He told me what happened next was a
miracle that I am still alive today.)
Remember
disaster and tragedy happens to everyone, Just like it did to Job,
David, Joseph, Moses, etc... and God loved each one of them
dearly, just as He loves each one of us dearly. Always look to the
Lord and do it His way and He will be there for you.
If
you make the Most High your dwelling- even the Lord, who is my
refuge-then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your
tent." Psalms 91:9-10

A Few Blessings that I Glorify God
For
Oh, how great is your goodness to those who publicly
declare that you will rescue them. For you have stored up great
blessings for those who trust and reverence you." Psalms
