Let's find out
what God says about one of the most dramatic problems in the church
today - family harmony
Show your teenager
mercy and grace
LET'S SHOW OUR TEENAGER THE SAME GRACE THAT
GOD HAS SHOWN US
Grace is getting what you don't deserve and Mercy is getting
what you do deserve. This is the moment as a parent that you
were created for. This is not the time to show your authority but to
show them your wisdom as a spiritual leader by showing them your
love, wisdom, mercy and grace. Use this moment to show them the
same grace and mercy that God has shown you. Use this moment to
define who you really are as a Parent of integrity.
Show them the wisdom and unconditional
love of a Parent that they remembered from you as a toddler.
Speak from your heart and show them that you may not always
understand them but that you will always support them and that you
will always be there for them.
"And this is
my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and
depth of insight." Philippians 1:9
"Do it God's way and do what Jesus would
do, Love your way back into your teenager's
heart!" And always praise God for this even before you see any
evidence that God has answered your heartfelt prayer. Because that's
faith and you cannot please God without faith. And I promise
that you will be blessed for it!
And years from now when you sit down with
your older son/daughter who is no longer a teenager. They will know
that you were right and that they were wrong many times when they
had shared conflicts with you. And they will not look at you as a
parent who was so forceful and stubborn from the old school ways,
but as a wiser parent who used unconditional love, unconventional
wisdom and a life like Jesus would do.
And one day they too will be a parent and
because you have broken the bond and curse of rebellion in your
family tree. Your children, and their children for generations
to come will lead a more blessed life for it. And when that
moment comes for them as it does for all parents. And they have
to deal with a difficult moment between their
teenager.
"The Godly
walk with integrity, blessed are their children after them."
Proverbs 20:7
Because you took the first step
to break the curse of rebellion. Their will be continual
blessings and harmony in your later years as a wise grandparent.
Because your now grown up child will have lead by your example
of showing grace and mercy to their children instead of anger
and hurtful speaking.
And when things don't go right
with their teenagers, Your kids who are now
parents will remember when they too made their share of
mistakes with you. Your legacy that you have passed down to
your children of unconditional love and respect, where
they have learned not to meet force with force. They will have
learned God's wisdom to become a blessing instead of a curse to
their children.
Your grandchildren will pass down blessings that
started with you from generation to generation to their children and
their children's children. Break the curse of bitterness,
resentment and rebellion. Give them a life blessed with total
forgiveness and unconditional love and they too will have
learned how to win their kids back into their hearts! Your
own children will understand one day, that it started
with you because you cared enough to lead by example by showing
your family what Jesus would
do.
And it is from you breaking the bonds and
curses in your families life that may have been past on for
generations, to receiving God's blessings and favors for generations
to come. And it is from this place of spiritual harmony that you as
a parent can truly glorify God as your cup of joy runneth
over!
"Train a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not turn from it." Proverbs
22:6
